Mi alma es como una casa antigua,
recuerda todo,
desde el llanto del primer nacido bajo sus mantas
hasta la ubicación de los retratos
según vayan falleciendo.
Mi alma ya no es la de antes,
la que podía ver las estrellas
o quizás más lejos:
adonde el tiempo compartía lugar
con algún secreto embarazoso.
El camino a casa desapareció
incluso, las murallas construidas tras el siniestro
y así, igual de ausente iba hasta ser lo que es:
Un ángulo impreciso, surreal, tonto
bebido hasta la última gota
por la garganta de alguna forastera
para luego drenarse en las huellas de un río.
Mi alma, como la casa antigua,
no teme a la metamorfosis
ella comprendió que no hay nada tan valioso
como una retirada a tiempo.
Como la casa antigua renuente en derrumbarse
mi alma incluye en su universo
al planeta deshabitado,
al poema que nadie quiere traducir,
a los temas agotados,
el mar que ya no agita sus aguas,
y a las criaturas del bosque
que no tienen donde refugiarse.
Casa antigua al fin
mi alma recuerda todo;
sin embargo,
no recuerda que haya muerto.

Moja duša je kot dolgo stoječa hiša,
zapomni si vse,
od joka novorojenca pod njenimi odejami
do mesta portretov
po vrstnem redu preminulih.
Moja duša ni več to, kar je bila,
tista, ki je bila je lahko videla zvezde
in še dlje:
tam, kjer si je čas delil svoj prostor
z neko nerodno skrivnostjo.
Še način, na katerega je dom izginil,
obzidje grajeno po katastrofi
in tako, v enaki odsotnosti kot bi bila:
nenatančen kot, nadrealen, nespameten
izpit do zadnje kaplje
z grla tujca
in zatem izsušen v stopinjah reke.
Moja duša, kot dolgo stoječa hiša,
ne boji se metamorfoze,
razume, da tam ničesar dragocenega ni
pravočasno se umakne.
Kot dolgo stoječa hiša odporna na propad,
moja duša del njenjega vesolja,
nenaseljivi planet,
poezija, ki je nihče ne želi prevesti,
motivi, ki so odmrli,
morje, ki ne premika več svojih vodá,
in bitja gozdá
nimajo več zatočišča.
Dolgo stoječa hiša na koncu,
moja duša pomni vse,
vendar,
ne spomne se svoje smrti.

My soul is like a long-standing house,
remembers everything,
from the crying of the first one born under its blankets
to the location of the portraits
in the order of how they pass away.
My soul is no longer as it used to be,
the one that did could see the stars
or even further:
there, where time shared its place
with some embarrassing secret.
Even the way home disappeared,
the rampart built after the catastrophe
and in this way, in the same absence as it would have been:
an imprecise angle, surreal, foolish
drank till the last drop
by the throat of a stranger
after that get drained in the footmarks of a river.
My soul, as the long-standing house,
is not afraid of metamorphosis,
it understands that there´s nothing valuable
on time it withdraws.
As the long-standing house resistant to collapse,
my souls a part of its universe
the uninhabited planet,
the poem that no one wants to translate,
the themes that died off,
the sea that doesn´t moves it´s waters anymore,
and the creatures of the forest
that have no shelter.
A long-standing house at the end,
my soul remembers everything;
yet,
it doesn´t remembers its own death.
Rolando Reyes López (Matanzas, Cuba 1969) His poetry has been published in many countries of América, and in Spain. He´s the autor of the book Zona de paz published on 2016 in Cuba: he has won the following prizes: Premio Roberto Peregrino Salcedo en 2012 (Argentina), Premio Nacional de Poesía Luis Braille en 2012 (Cuba), Premio Camilo, Imagen de pueblo 1998 (Cuba), Premio Nacional de Poesía en Encuentro de Escritores de la Asociación Nacional del Ciego en 1999 y el 2000 (Cuba), finalista del X Certamen internacional “Picapedreros” de Poesía, guion y microrrelato 2020 (Spain). Tercer premio en el II Certamen internacional de poesía Aliar 2020 (Spain), primer permio en el Concurso Internacional de Poesía Paulina Medieros 2020 (Uruguay). His poem Equality of conditions has recently been translated to English and Slovene by Literatura.si.
