Afuera del palacio de gobierno, en pleno calor del mediodía, quince maestros de una escuela secundaria exigían, con consignas escritas en pancartas y recitadas, tres meses de salario atrasado. Hasta la llegada del ocaso, un funcionario del departamento de cultura les entregó una medalla a cada uno, como reconocimiento de la firmeza de su lucha.
Al cabo de un par de semanas, el gobierno del estado transportó al grupo de maestros al CNC: Concurso Nacional de Consignas. Entusiasmados por obtener el primer lugar, arrasaron con todos los concursantes en cada una de las etapas; dejando en tercer lugar a un grupo de campesinos en defensa de sus tierras y en segundo lugar a un grupo de jubilados a los que les habían recortado el treinta por ciento de su pensión.
Cinco meses después, los maestros seguían afuera del palacio de gobierno; sobreviviendo con el poco dinero de sus ahorros, pero con el suficiente ánimo para recitar consignas nuevas no tan alejadas a su problema principal.
—CONCURSO FRAUDULENTO, ¿DÓNDE ESTÁ NUESTRO PREMIO? ¿ACASO EL GOBIERNO ESTÁ DETRÁS DE ELLO? —gritaban en conjunto con la voz rasgada.

Pred vladno palačo je v opoldanski vročini petnajst učiteljev iz srednje šole z gesli, napisanimi na transparentih, zahtevalo izplačilo treh mesečnih plač. Ko se je bližal mrak, je uradnik z ministrstva za kulturo vsakemu izročil medaljo kot priznanje za njihovo vztrajnost v boju.
Po nekaj tednih je državna vlada skupino učiteljev prepeljala na CNC: Concurso Nacional de Consignas. Motivirani, da osvojitvijo prvo mesto, so na vseh stopnjah pometli z vsemi tekmeci in na tretjem mestu pustili skupino kmetov, ki so branili svojo zemljo, na drugem mestu pa skupino upokojencev, ki so jim zmanjšali trideset odstotkov pokojnine.
Pet mesecev pozneje so bili učitelji še vedno pred vladno palačo. Preživeli so z nekaj prihranki, vendar z dovolj entuziazma, da so recitirali nova gesla, ki niso bila tako daleč od njihovega glavnega problema.

Outside the government palace, in the midday heat, fifteen teachers from a secondary school demanded three months’ overdue salary with slogans written on placards and recitations. As dusk approached, an official from the culture department presented them each with a medal in recognition of their steadfastness in their struggle.
After a couple of weeks, the state government transported the group of teachers to the CNC: Concurso Nacional de Consignas. Enthusiastic about winning the first place, they swept all competitors in each of the stages, leaving in third place a group of peasants defending their land and in second place a group of retirees who had had thirty percent of their pension cut.
Five months later, the teachers were still outside the government palace, surviving on the little money from their savings, but with enough spirit to recite new slogans not so far from their main problem.
FRAUDULENT CONTEST, WHERE IS OUR PRIZE, IS THE GOVERNMENT BEHIND IT?, they shouted in unison, their voices torn.
